Good Europe is not advocating a leave or remain position and does not endorse any campaigns. We publish a range of views to encourage debate; this does not indicate support for these views.
Britain soon faces a defining choice about our relationship with the EU. But the mainstream debate is unimaginative and full of fear. The EU referendum gives us the chance to have a more hopeful and ambitious discussion about the Europe we really want: one that is much more equal, sustainable and democratic – a Good Europe.
The bankers and the bureaucrats have defined the terms of the debate for too long – now it’s our turn. We don’t want the Europe on offer. The referendum gives us the platform to rethink and build for a good Europe – it’s a chance we have to take.
In seeking an alternative, positive agenda for a Good Europe we will ask: what is the vision and purpose for the EU in the 21st century? What are the policies needed to implement the vision? How do we make it happen?
We will be holding a range of events in the lead up to the referendum – watch this space.
